EMES currently gathers some of the leading scholars and researchers working in social enterprise issues. Stemming from various traditions and disciplines, individual EMES members are now able to create a space of exchange whose ultimate goal is to contribute to the excellence of research on social enterprise well beyond Europe.
From the initial seminars held by EMES at the end of the 1990s to the 4th EMES Research Conference (Liege, July 2013) attended by 350 researchers from over 25 countries, EMES has witnessed a phenomenal rise in the number of researchers interested in EMES. Most of them now have the chance to become formally a part of the EMES network.
