This 10EMES Conference will be structured around 15 thematic lines covering a vast amount of research topics. The aim of thematic lines is twofold: on the one hand, they capture the most relevant research themes which are currently being addressed by researchers globally and, on the other hand, they explore the boundaries of what will constitute relevant research in the future.
Today, we launch a series describing the thematic lines and addressing the crucial role of conveners.

- Line 9: Ecological Sustainability and the Circular Economy
- Line 10: Commons and Communities in Societal Transitions from past to present: Toward Post-Growth and Nature-based Futures
- Line 11: The SE Field within the Pluriverse
- Line 12: Fostering SE in Culture and the Arts
- Line 13: Rural and Regional Perspectives on the SE Field
- Line 14: Education and Training to Advance the SE Field
- Line 15: Cooperatives Facing Transitions
The group of scholars that have kindly accepted to convene these thematic lines consists of established and well-known names as well as emerging and promising researchers. Conveners bring the expertise of many years and experience and the creativity to imagine the future of research to our SE field while ensuring that there are relevant paper and panel proposal submissions for their lines.
We believe that this mix is the best way to develop future lines of research on solid theoretical grounds just like combining consolidated research themes and pushing the boundaries of the next research agendas through the 15 thematic lines.
