With an academic background in mathematics and actuarial sciences, she worked in the finance and insurance sectors during 4 years (non-life insurance, asset and liability management, quantitative risk management consultancy). She also volunteered during one year in charities (among others microfinance) in South America.
She is now starting a PhD in the framework of the Baillet Latour Chair in Social investment and philanthropy launched in December 2012 at HEC-ULg. The research fields of the Baillet Latour Chair include the analysis of foundations as enterprises with societal aims, impact measurements and philanthropists as partners for social entrepreneurs. At this early stage of her research, Amélie is working on the tax-deductible donations in Belgium as well as on the Belgian Foundation sector.
