Shajahan’s research and publications are in the areas of Social Innovation and People Centred Development, Social Enterprises, Communalism, Conflicts and Peace Processes, Minority Rights etc. Involved in several international researches and academic engagements, he is a member of the coordination group for developing the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development 2020.
He is one of the founding members of the Critical Edge Alliance (CEA) – a global alliance of progressive universities across the globe as well as SERESI – Solidarity Economy Reciprocity and Social Innovation.
He is in the board of trustees of several Non-profit organisations in India. He is member of EMES, Regional President (South Asia) of the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW) and member of International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).
