Nicole joined EMES in 2013, is cooperating on ICSEM, COST + Map project. Her postdoc-research centered mainly on coop start-ups, social and educational coops in Germany, her graduate research on coops in developing countries and in Europe.

    Nicole’s contemporary research is centered on development paths of different social cooperatives in Germany and in Europe and on the role of SE in social welfare delivery in Germany(ICSEM, Empower SE/COST WG 1 and 2).
    From 2015 onwards she managed a first explorative study on social coops in three sectors (education, inclusion and care) in Germany .
    During 2014-2015 she co-ordinated the German Contribution to the International Comparative Social Enterprise Models (ICSEM) Project of EMES.
    From 2006 to 2014 she acted as scientific councillor to several pilot projects on pupils’ cooperatives in Niedersachsen, Nordrhein-Westfalen and Baden-Württemberg.
    From 2008 to 2010 she assessed the workings, framework conditions and benefits of Entrepreneur Cooperatives for the International Labour Office and COPAC (Geneva)
    2006 she spent several months consulting in organisational development for Yebo and Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisen-Verband (DGRV) in South Africa.
    2005 she evaluated the official programme of Cooperative Promotion in Egypt (GTZ, DGRV, Min. ofAgriculture, Egypt)
    In 2003, 2004 and 2005 she acted as a resource person at three Alumni Regional Conferences in South East Asia for the University Consortium Kassel/Marburg/Göttingen
    In 2000 she was a co-author of Report V (1) Promotion of cooperatives, in preparation of Revision of Recommendation 193 (ILO) together with H.-H. Münkner and H. Henry
