After the rich activity of 2019, 2020 was, for EMES and its members, as for everyone, a very particular and difficult year. Many initiatives had to be canceled, postponed or redesigned. But research went on, and in these times of hardship, EMES did not let itself be brought down; thanks to the support of its members, who rallied around the network in a hearth-warming way, ways were found to evolve and adapt to the new conditions and sanitary restrictions.
In an easy-to-read and visually clear style, the report tells the story of these two years, and of what happened in terms of research initiatives, events, publications and training and education, and of how the network coped, in terms of membership and financial balance, through the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
We could provide here a very succinct summary of the main points of each section of the activity report, but this would be quite frustrating and unfair: we would have to make a drastic selection of the elements to include, and leave out many others. And more importantly, something fundamental would be missing: you would not SEE the report, which would be a pity! The report indeed includes many pictures of EMES events, which will undoubtedly bring back good memories to you. 😊 It also includes a lot of figures which visually summarise information (timelines of events and research projects, maps, graphic charts…) much more efficiently than words could do, as well as links to a very large number of freely available publications.
So we will not try to achieve the unachievable goal of efficiently summarising the report. We think it wiser to simply give you the link to discover it by yourself. Enjoy! ☺️
