After having taken part in the European PERSE research, Andreia Lemaître stayed two years at Rio de Janeiro to write a PhD dissertation entitled “Social and solidarity-based economy organisations. Analysis of North and South realities through the political embeddedness concept and a plural economy approach”. She also stayed one year, as a post-doctoral fellow, at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of ERASMUS University Rotterdam in The Hague.
Andreia Lemaître is currently full-time lecturer in development studies at the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium. She is a member of the Centre for Development Studies (DVLP) and of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre on Work, State and Society (CIRTES). She teaches, notably, “Development Theories”, “History and Streams of the Economic Thought” and project management and analysis. As a socio-economist, her research focuses on popular and solidarity-based economy in the South, mainly in Latin America, and on substantive approaches to the economy.
