Garance is currently a Ph.D. student in Management Science at the Institute of Labour Economics and Industrial Sociology, Aix Marseille University CNRS UMR 7317, under Nadine Richez-Battesti and Ariel Mendez supervision.
Her research focuses on fair trade producers’ appropriation. In particular she is doing a qualitative case study of a fair trade label completely owned by Southern producers, which head office is located in Mexico. Affiliated with the french Center for Mexican and Central American Studies (CEMCA, Mexico) she spent a few months there to lead her field study.
Her background is in Management and Organization studies, and her previous master degrees’ thesis dealt with dependence of fair trade producers in Peru and fair trade practices institutionalization in Morocco.
